The Australian stock markets is set to slide on the open this morning, after US markets were closed overnight and ahead of Theresa May’s speech tonight regarding the Brexit process.

SPI futures are down eight points, at 5695.

The main local risk event on Tuesday will be the release of official housing finance figures, including home loans and investment loans, for November.

  • Dow Jones flat; S&P500 +0.2pc; Nasdaq +0.5pc
  • FTSE100 +0.2pc, CAC +0.8pc, DAX +0.6pc
  • Spot gold +0.4pc at $US1202.85 an ounce
  • Brent oil +0.5pc at $US55.73 a barrel
  • Iron ore +3.9pc at $US83.65 a tonne
